LOCATION
All Festival performances will take place in Cape Girardeau's historic downtown area along the Mississippi River.
TOURISM INFO
A Cape Girardeau Visitors Guide will be provided to all Festival attendees at the time of your check-in at Festival headquarters. Detailed city maps, rack cards, and/or brochures highlighting area attractions are available at the Cape Girardeau Convention and Visitors Bureau at 400 Broadway, just three short blocks immediately west of the festival headquarters. Information is also available online at visitcape.com.
SOUVENIRS
There will be a variety of Cape Girardeau memorabilia available for purchase at both the Cape Girardeau Convention and Visitors Bureau at 400 Broadway and at Festival headquarters. Souvenirs include Coffee Mugs, Caps, Postcards, Frisbees, etc. and of course the official Cape Girardeau Storytelling Festival t-shirt.
LODGING
Cape Girardeau offers more than 800 rooms including hotels, and bed and breakfasts. We also have RV park and campground options as well. For additional information call 1-800-777-0068.
DINING
Cape Girardeau offers more than 120 outstanding restaurants sure to satisfy every taste. Dining information for Cape Girardeau is available online. A comprehensive dining guide is also available in print and will be included in your festival bag that will be provided to you at check-in at the Festival headquarters.
RESTROOMS
Restrooms are available inside the Festival headquarters and at the Cape Girardeau Convention and Visitors Bureau at 400 Broadway. In addition, port-a-potties are located near performance sites. Festival goers are discouraged from using restrooms in restaurant unless of course dining there.
PARKING
Free parking is available throughout the historic downtown district.
PHOTOGRAPHY, VIDEO AND AUDIO-RECORDING
Photography, audio recording, and video taping are permitted on the festival grounds, but prohibited in the tents while performances are occurring — except for authorized media representatives.
SMOKING
Smoking is not allowed inside performance tents or inside Festival headquarters.
PHONES
Please be sure all cell phones and pagers are turned off while performances are underway.
PETS
Pets are not allowed in Festival headquarters and tents except for those used to aid the disabled. No exceptions.
FIRST AID
First aid kits will be available in each tent for minor needs, for emergency assistance call 911.
LOST AND FOUND
Lost children will be taken to Festival headquarters. Lost items can be turned in and reclaimed at the same location.
