a number of area school children will be attending the various daytime sessions. 
The Cape Girardeau Storytelling Festival has partnered with a number of regional school districts
in order to allow a whole new generation to experience the wonderful art of storytelling!

*  This year the Cape Girardeau Storytelling festival will offer a "Swapping Ground" for anyone wanting to take the stage and try their hand at storytelling.  The Swapping Ground will be held in the Merriwether Tent on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. and again on Saturday from 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.  Each teller will be given a maximum of 10 minutes.  Please note that this time limit will be enforced so that we are able to maximize the number of participants.  If interested, we strongly encourage you to sign up prior to the festival by e-mailing Joyce Slater at slatertales@kc.rr.com.  Those who sign up in advance will be scheduled first.  Those who do not sign up in advance may still tell at the Swapping Ground, but only if time allows.
